Every household should have a well-stocked first aid kit with all the essentials to handle emergencies. Minor injuries can occur unexpectedly, whether you're young or old, and being prepared is crucial. Having the right treatments on hand is key to cleaning and caring for injuries, preventing them from getting worse

One of the most trusted solutions for treating scrapes, cuts, and other open wounds is iodine. Widely used as a topical antiseptic, iodine is known for its effectiveness and its gentle care on the skin, making it a reliable choice in first aid.

What Are You Using To Clean An Open Wound?

Ideal For Open Wounds

Anyone can fall victim to an injury, regardless of how careful they may be. An essential in every first aid kit, this medical-grade iodine prep solution effectively cleans abrasions, cuts, lacerations, scrapes, and minor burns.

Skin Prep Prior To Surgery

Decrease the risk of complications for patients who are about to undergo surgery with this topical iodine solution. Formulated specifically for pre-operative skin preparation, it is very effective, yet gentle on the skin.

Cleanse The Venipuncture Site

Aside from preparing the skin for surgery, this iodine solution can be used to prepare the skin for minor invasive procedures such as venipuncture. It cleanses the site prior to the extraction of blood from the vein, reducing the risk of contaminants entering the bloodstream.

Why Switch to Protodine

01

Safe Formulation

This solution contains 10% povidone-iodine USP as its active ingredient, which is equivalent to 1% available iodine. Inactive ingredients include citric acid, disodium phosphate, glycerin, purified water, sodium citrate, and tween 80.

To ensure the safety of users, this iodine prep solution does not contain alcohol. It complies with the U.S. trade agreements act, which means it is manufactured in a reliable procurement country.

02

Easy To Use

For use as a first-aid solution, simply unscrew the cap on the bottle and apply the product 1 to 3 times a day to the affected area. Let the solution dry before applying a bandage or gauze. Make sure the affected area is clean and that the bandage is sterile.

For pre-operative skin preparation use, first clean the affected area, and then apply the solution. You may use a cotton ball or swab for application on the skin.

03

Numerous Applications

What’s wonderful about this iodine prep solution is that it can be used for numerous things. It doubles as a mouth rinse for those with gum problems and can be used to maintain oral hygiene after dental surgery. It can also be used for mucosa or cleaning the skin prior to pimple-popping or skin tag removal.

Should you have a pet at home, this solution may help with any skin irritations or allergies they may have.
